M&E Projects

High Bay Extension – GE Oil & Gas – Charleton Road – Montrose – Value £350,000

We installed a mechanical & electrical installation package at this project which stands over 20mt in height. We installed sub-main panel boards, TPN distribution boards, TPN, SPN & 110V switched sockets & isolators, wired using SWA cable on heavy duty tray. We installed 110V transformer units and double pole distribution boards and we installed a 400A busbar trunking system including TPN tap-off units. High bay LED luminaires were installed for energy saving purposes and to reduce maintenance issues. Banks of three phase intake/extract fans were installed at high level controlled by local panels. A lightning protection system was installed incorporating earth rods, tapes & surge protection devices. Fire alarm & data installations were extended from existing systems including fibre optic data cable, patch panels & data cabinets.

We installed a 50mm copper water ring main round the perimeter of the workshop, extended the exiting 50mm water hydrant supply to a new test pit, installed 22mm processed water drops to low level outlets fitted with ball valves & Schrader maxi double port fittings. An existing gas pipe was re-routed & extended to circumnavigate the footprint of the new workshop. All break-ins were carried out during specified shut-down periods to avoid any downtime to the client’s production requirements.  Continuous ambi-rad radiant heaters were installed with local smart-com controllers & black-ball sensors to maintain a constant temperature. Industrial air curtains were installed over 6mt high speed roller shutter doors to provide an air barrier when the door opens, again to maintain the temperature and to limit dust egress to the area.

Welding Bay Extension – GE Oil & Gas – Brent Avenue – Montrose – Value £290,000

We installed a mechanical & electrical installation package at this project. We installed 800A busbar trunking systems which supplied local TPN distribution boards, which in turn supplied TPN, SPN & 110V switched sockets & isolators, wired using SWA cable on heavy duty tray. We installed 110V transformer units and double pole distribution boards. We installed a tannoy system throughout the workshop area.

We installed 22mm processed water drops to low level outlets fitted with ball valves & Schrader maxi double port fittings. We installed a 15mm fresh water pipework system to drinking fountain units. All break-ins were carried out during specified shut-down periods to avoid any downtime to the client’s production requirements. Industrial air curtains were installed over 6mt high speed roller shutter doors to provide an air barrier when the door opens, to maintain the temperature and to limit dust egress to the area. An intake/extract specialist ventilation system was installed to maintain the temperature beneath the welding rigs and a specialist extract system was installed to remove dust particles created during the grinding process.

All electrical & mechanical works were tested, commissioned & demonstrated to the client. Weekly progress meetings & programme updates, along with a single point of contact ensured that the client’s specifications were adhered to at all times.
